Improve the quality of the text on your screen by enabling ClearType in XP.
Right-click the desktop and click Properties, click the Appearance tab, click
Effects. Check the box to enable "use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts" and select ClearType. Click OK to close this and you'll notice that the text is bolder and softer.
